Get ready to GLOW once again!

After being postponed due to the December winds, the Reading Lantern Parade will now take place on Saturday 15 February, bringing an evening of love and light to Reading town centre.

Bring your loved ones and experience the magic of hundreds of beautifully crafted lanterns glowing in the night. Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, family or friends, this illuminated parade with drumming and music is the perfect way to make your Valentine’s weekend unforgettable.

Join us at 5.30pm outside the Broad Street Mall for a night of light, love and laughter. The parade travels along St Mary’s Butts to Broad Street at 5:30pm heading to Town Hall Square for a musical finale.

100’s of people from across Reading have been taking part in lantern-making workshops creating beautiful candle lit lanterns to bring to the parade.

The parade will be lead by a bateria of drummers and large sculptural lanterns finishing in Town Hall Square

The parade will move at a slow walking pace is suitable for all ages.

If you made a lantern at one of the lantern making workshops before Christmas, please come to the back of the Broad Street Mall (Opposite Blue Collar Food) at 5pm to check and light your candle. Attendees without lantern please join us at 5:30pm on Broad Street (Oxford Road end).
